Where has the time gone
Since this all first begun
Since we last had a sleepover
And spent a day out in the sun?
Since I last heard your laughter
And watched you first ride a bike
It’s been months since I’ve seen you
Though it feels like just last night
I can’t remember the beginning
Or perhaps I choose to forget
The hours I wasted on my phone
And the ever-growing pile of regret
I should have been there for you
When you’d call me late at night
I should have tried a bit harder
I should have made it all right
Could you ever forgive me?
For the times I made you sad?
For the plans that failed to happen
And the moments we never had
This poem may all be in vain
As I write to you, time zones away
I hope you know you’re my everything
And I love you more everyday
